
Google has announced a JBL LINK BAR – a voice-controlled soundbar with Google Assistant and support for Android TV. It’s a smart soundbar having the form factor & functionality of a typical soundbar by adding a couple of key Google integration into it – Android TV and Google Assistant. The JBL LINK BAR gives users a complete Android TV experience and delivers a smarter way to stream content.



The JBL LINK BAR is touted as the industry’s first soundbar and, it is the company’s first hybrid device that comes with Android TV support & built-in Assistant. The soundbar with Google Assistant integration capable of switching on Android TV, play YouTube videos, start music on Pandora, and start a TV channel without requiring physical interaction. While as an Android TV-powered device, the JBL LINK BAR will work as a smart set-top box for your TV. Android TV supports a variety of apps and streaming services like YouTube, Netflix, a variety of games and social networking apps, and more. In other words, the JBL LINK BAR is designed to combine the JBL’s audio & Android TV’s content collection.
The JBL LINK BAR has connectivity features like an Ethernet port, optical line-in port, service port, three HDMI inputs, ARC HDMI outputs, and a subwoofer pairing button. It doesn’t come with a remote, so the operation of the soundbar is through voice.
The JBL LINK BAR soundbar can also be used for home automation as well. The soundbar, when connected with smart home devices in your home, will perform tasks like ‘dimming the lights’ and ‘switching on the air-conditioner.’
