Apple has launched the new Smart Battery Cases for use with its 2018 iPhone lineup – iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max. The new cases are available in Black and White silicon
The case feature an elastomer hinge design that makes it easy to put the case on and take it off, and a large bump on the back to accommodate the battery. The new models will get the first-party advantage of integrating directly with iOS and the new options provide an intelligent battery status on the iPhone’s Lock screen and in Notification Center so you’re aware of the remaining charge of the device. WIth the smart battery case on users know exactly how much charge is left, similar to how users monitor connected AirPods and Apple Watch charges.
The cases are compatible with Qi wireless charging standard and can charge the iPhone simultaneously. Also, they can be recharged by Lightning-to-USB cables, with USB-C enabling fast charging. The Smart Battery Case can be charged with a USB-PD compatible chargers (not included in the box), which will improve charging time significantly.
The iPhone XS case adds up to 21 hours of internet use, up to 25 hours of video playback, or up to 33 hours of talk time.
The iPhone XS Max case adds up to 20 hours of internet use, up to 25 hours of video playback, and up to 37 hours of talk time
The iPhone XR case offers the biggest battery life boost, with up to 22 extra hours of internet, up to 27 hours of video playback and up to 39 hours of talk.
The new Smart Battery Case work with 2018 lineup of iPhone and provides a varying amount of battery life depending on device.

“The Smart Battery Case is compatible with Qi-certified chargers. You can charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously for increased talk time up to 33 hours, Internet use up to 21 hours, and even longer audio and video playback. With the Smart Battery Case on, the intelligent battery status is displayed on the iPhone Lock screen and in Notification Center, so you know exactly how much charge you have left.”
The Smart Battery Case features a 10.1 Wh battery and inside the box you’ll find the few pieces of documentation, and Smart Battery Case. When your iPhone is inside the Smart Battery Case, it charges the iPhone first, and once the iPhone is full, the Smart Battery Case will begin to charge. If you want the Smart Battery Case quickly, you have to remove the iPhone and charge it separately. There is a small LED charging indicator inside the case that turns orange when charging, and green when fully charged.
